Alejandro N. Martinez, 80, was born October 14, 1945, he entered eternal rest, September 14, 2026, in Dilley, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Vargas, who shared companionship and a meaningful chapter of his earthly journey; Daughters Esperanza Deleon (Henry Deleon), Sandra Martinez-Cruz (Arnulfo Cruz), Erica Pacheco (Raul Pacheco), Raquel Martinez-Suh (Jung Suh), and Alexandria Martinez- Inocencio (Eduardo Inocencio). Along with Great- Grandchildren; Gabriella, Vincent, Benjamin, Samuel and Abraham Rodriguez; Robbie, Mateo, and Kamilla Cervantez. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Alejandro was a devoted family man whose life was defined by faith, service, strength, resilience, and unconditional love. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and dedicated 33 years of his life to education as a teacher, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students. A devoted Catholic, Alejandro faithfully served Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church as a Sacristan, giving of his time in service to his parish and to God. Outside of the classroom and church, Alejandro found joy in the simple things he loved most. He enjoyed gardening, working at his beloved Ranchito, and creating crafts through woodworking. He took great pride in working with his hands, caring for his land, and creating things for others to enjoy. Above all, Alejandro treasured his family and found his greatest joy in being a father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a loving father-in-law who embraced his sons-in-law as his own sons, welcoming them into his family with the same love, support, and guidance he gave his daughters. To Alejandro, they were not simply sons-in-law—they were his sons and an important part of the family he loved so deeply. A man of strong faith, Alejandro believed in forgiveness, working together, and trusting in God's purpose. He encouraged those around him to enjoy life, love one another, remain strong through difficult times, and never give up. Throughout his battle with cancer, Alejandro demonstrated the same resilience that characterized his life. Although his family prayed for his physical healing, they find comfort in knowing that he has now received the ultimate healing and is resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alejandro's legacy will live on through his family, the generations of students he taught, his parish community, and all who were blessed to know him. He will be remembered for his service to God and country, his dedication to education, his love for his family, his strong work ethic, and the example he set to love deeply, forgive freely, enjoy life, keep the faith, and never give up. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
