Obituary

On Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, Antonio Cumpian Jr. (Tony), a beloved son, brother, uncle, and dog-father, passed away at age fifty-six. Born to Antonio and Isabel Cumpian in Uvalde, Texas, on April 21, 1967. Tony was known for being the most fun-loving, kind-hearted, and family-devoted individual. He was raised in Carrizo Springs, Texas, where he graduated from Carrizo Springs High School before moving to Leander, Texas, where he would live for the rest of his days as a hard-working HEB employee, devoted friend, and loving family-member.

Tony was a beloved father to his rescue dog, Diesel, and together the two of them loved going on walks, playing tug-of-war, and taking turns snoring during midday naps. Some of Tony's favorite activities included watching baseball, golf, or softball with his dad, watching soap operas with his mom, attending Formula One racing with his younger sister, Sonia, and playing video games with friends. Tony would come down from Leander for family events whenever he could and stayed with his older sister, Sandra, her husband, and their three children who adored him. Tony was strong-willed and stubborn, ‌but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave.

Tony is survived by his parents, Antonio, and Isabel, his sisters, Sandra, and Sonia, his two nieces, Annika, and Micaela, his nephew, Miguel Antonio, and his beloved rescue dog, Diesel. His funeral services will be held at Leonard funeral home and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Carrizo Springs, Texas. The viewing will be on Tuesday, July 25th, from 5-9 p.m., and Wednesday, July 26th at 8:30 a.m. The church and burial services will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023.
