Catarino Ruiz Jr., 74, entered eternal rest Thursday, March 14, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Ruiz is preceded in death by his parents; Juanita Rodriguez Ruiz and Catarino Ruiz Sr., daughters; Bianca Ruiz and Lisa Ruiz, stepson: Danny Leal, sister; Gloria R. Arevalo, brothers; Augustine Ruiz and Alvino Ruiz.

Catarino is survived by his wife of 20 plus years Josefa G. Ruiz, sons; Catarino Ruiz III, Anthony Ruiz Sr., Jose Angel Ruiz, Luis Miguel Ruiz, step daughter; Mary Lou Carranza and Crystal Tapia, step son; Ray Leal, Timothy Leal, Jonathan Leal, brothers; Juan Ruiz, Arturo Ruiz, Jose Ruiz, Daniel Ruiz, sisters; Blasa Ruiz, Santos Ruiz, Concha Ruiz, Magdalena Escobedo, Juanita Surita along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Ruiz family will honor their loved one on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Big Wells where a funeral mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. Internment will follow at a St. Michaels Cemetery.
