Jose T. Mendez, 90, entered into eternal rest, July 7, 2024, in Hereford, Texas. Mr. Mendez is preceded in death by his parents; Casimira Torres Mendez and Jose Mendez; sister, Mary Rodriguez.

Jose is survived by his wife of 57 years of marriage, Nevolena Silva Mendez, daughter; Melissa Mendez Martinez; sons, Jose Mendez III, Marco Mendez and Fred Nava; niece, Mary Helen Martinez who was raised like a sister to Jose; grandchildren, Marissa Solis, Jocelyn Solis, William Mendez, Joe Max Solis, Christian Mendez, Mark Mendez, J.D. Mendez, Myra Rubucalva; 3 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

The Mendez family will honor their loved one on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Asherton where a funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. Internment will follow at the Guadalupe Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be William Mendez, Joe Max Solis, Christian Mendez, Mark Mendez, J.D. Mendez, Anthony Vargas. The honorary pallbearer will be Luis Bustamante.
