Mr. Sosa was born in Asherton, Texas on April 12, 1945, to Petra Fuentes Sosa and Encarnacion Sosa. Mr. Sosa is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Maria Avalos, Leonardo Sosa, Cira Sosa, Eugenia Mata, and Julian Sosa, son, Jaime Encarnacion Sosa, daughter, Jo Ann Sosa.

Jose is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Hortencia Olga De La Cruz Sosa, children, Juana Alicia Sosa, Albert Rene Sosa, Elvira Sosa, granddaughter, Darian Sohala Sosa-Scott, grandsons, Albert James Sosa, Aiden Ace Sosa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
