Lucia Mendez Ruiz, 80, entered into eternal rest, November 3, 2023, in Edinburg, Texas. Ms. Mendez Ruiz was born in Eagle Pass but raised in Asherton, Texas. She is preceded in death by her biological parents, Emilio Mendez and Augustina Martinez Mendez. Also preceded in death by her foster parents Emeterio and Francisca Garcia. Lucia is survived by her sister Ana Luisa Martinez.

The Ruiz family will honor their loved one on Thursday, November 16, 2023, with a graveside service at Guadalupe cemetery in Asherton beginning at 10am.
