Mable B. Gilbert, 97, entered eternal rest, June 21, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Gilbert is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Booker T. Gilbert Sr., parents; Hattie Dilworth McNeil and Elbert McNeil, daughter; Dorothy Gilbert, sons; Archie Gilbert, Eugene Gilbert, Booker T. Gilbert II.

Mable is survived by her daughters; Mary Louise Herndon, Carmen Jean Jones, Janet Richardson, Janice Hurn, Frances Garcia, sons; Herbert Wayne Gilbert, Travis Glenn Gilbert, sisters; Naomi Embers, Lessie B. Knight along with 21grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Gilbert family will honor their loved one on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the First Baptist Church where a funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Guadalupe #4 Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Richardson, Arvin Herndon, De'Aunta Hurn, Jermaine Gilbert, Jovone Leannais, Christopher Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Booker Gilbert Jr., Quincy Gilbert, Archie Gilbert and Anthony Pointdextor.
