Maria Gamez Garcia, 92, entered eternal rest, August 15, 2026, Del Rio, Texas. Mrs. Garcia was born December 27, 1933, to Lile San Miguel and Juan C. Gamez. Mrs. Garcia is preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband, Jose Carmen Garcia.

Maria is survived by her children, Deacon Mario A. Garcia and wife, Janie, Maricela Garcia, Melisa Garcia Garcia and husband, Javier, Maria Teresa G. Chapa and husband, Adrian +, Monica G. Rodriguez and husband, Patricio, along with 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

The Garcia family will honor their loved one on August 20, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on August 21, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church which will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Guadalupe #3 Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan I. Garcia, Javier Adan Garcia, Rogelio Hernandez, J.C. Hernandez, J.P. Rodriguez, Tony Rodriguez, and Benjamin Chapa. Honorary pallbearer will be Gabriel Rodriguez.
