Mercedes Alvarez Gomez, 87, entered eternal rest, Thursday, October 31, 2024, in Big Wells, Texas. Mrs. Gomez is preceded in death by her husband; Maximinio Gomez, parents; Josefina Torres Alvarez and Alfonzo Alvarez, daughter; Gloria Belmontez, siblings; Alfonzo Alvarez, Luis Alvarez, Jesus Alvarez, Alicia Alvarez and Guadalupe Alvarez.

Mercedes is survived by her children; Jose A. Gomez, Maria Lourdes Narvaez and Maria De Los Angeles Calderon, sisters; Maria Del Carmen Cortez and Margarita Alvarez, 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The Gomez family will honor their loved one on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carrizo Springs.
