Nora Ponce
Capistran
Oct 26, 1963 — Apr 18, 2026
San Antonio
It is with immense sorrow and heartache we announce that on the cold, rainy night of April 18th, 2026, A beautiful Ma, tia, prima and sister, Nora Capistran, was taken from us all unexpectedly at the young age of 62. She was born on October 26, 1963 in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Big Wells, Texas before marrying Joe M. Capistran and moving to San Antonio, Texas. Although she became a widow unexpectedly in 2009, she remained a loving, generous, selfless and kind soul who had a passion for her faith and for helping others and taught children in Special Education, PBIS, BMC/BASE for Powell Elementary for over 20 years. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Chris & Emma, her older brother Betico & sister-in-law Bessie, her nieces Yvette & Josie, nephews Kiko & Bobby and other cousins too long to list. Over the course of her life she had touched so many souls and we know that this world will not be the same without her. We will forever cherish all the good times and memories we all created together, and she will live on forever deep within our hearts, and no one will be able to take that away from us. She will be cremated on May 1st, 2026, in Laredo, Texas and inurned at a later date in the Big Wells Cemetery with her late husband Joe Capistran, with a celebration of life to follow. For those who wish to pay their respects, please send your happy memories, thoughts, prayers, photos, condolences and stories of Nora to noracapistranrespects@yahoo.com so that we may create a memory book.
