Roberto Cruz, born on February 8, 1967, in Evanston, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved son of Alejandro G. Cruz and Evangelina C. Cruz, who preceded him in death.

Roberto was a devoted brother and is survived by his cherished siblings: Esmeralda Reyes, Alejandro Cruz Jr., Hilda Cruz, Dora Elia Reyes, Ruben Cruz, Irene Cruz, Gloria C. Sepeda, Chris "C.J." Saldivar, Veronica Saldivar, and Tammy Schwind. He shared a special bond with each of them, and his presence will be dearly missed in their lives.

A kind-hearted individual, Roberto was known for his infectious laugh, unwavering love for dancing, and deep love for his family and friends. His legacy of kindness and compassion will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Roberto will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were fortunate enough to know him. Family meant everything to Roberto, and he took great joy in the time spent with loved ones.

Viewing services for Roberto will take place on January 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on January 7, 2025, from ​8:30 AM to ​9:​30 ​AM at Leonard's Funeral Home. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather to pay their respects, honor his memory, and share cherished stories that reflect the joy he brought to their lives. Following the viewing, a church service will be held at the House of Worship Ministry, located at 2107 Pena Street​, at 10:00 AM. Burial services will then proceed at Mount Hope Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at Jefe's Bar & Grill, located at 794 Loop 517 in Carrizo Springs, TX, where guests can continue to celebrate Roberto's life and legacy.
